Pallmer National Tour Highlights - West to East Coast of Canada
Throughout July and early August of 2023 I had the honour of performing with my dear friends in Pallmer across the country on a national tour. We were met with incredible hospitality, kindness and support in so many places, further validating that as music people, we have chosen the right path for us. Such a massive endeavour as touring the country is met with many challenges both personally and logistically. Music performance is hard work and requires resources and time that are typically quite limited. Emily and Mark persevered greatly in Vancouver, BC as they found out their car wasn’t going to survive the journey back to the east coast. What followed was a great odyssey of car hunting with a 5-day timeline to meet that demands of the touring schedule. After some unreal effort they managed to finalize the purchase of a Dodge Caravan, large enough to carry all of our things and ourselves back home and to our many shows. We made lovely memories performing shows in Vancouver, Kamloops, Revelstoke, Regina, Winnipeg, Sudbury, Ottawa, Saint John, and many more! The venues varied in size and character including a back yard, to the front porch of a haunted house, a record store as well as festival stages. We were put to the test in our abilities to organize events, perform sound technician duties, promote, network, drive, camp, builds fires, troubleshoot equipment problems, and much, much more. It was a powerful learning experiences and we made many new friends along the way. I am so thankful to be able to perform and collaborate with people such as Emily Kennedy and Mark Kleyn. They are both incredible musicians and hard-working people, displaying kindness and generosity in all they do. They are deeply caring individuals and I can’t wait to see what our connected futures have in store!

Pallmer
Pallmer is a chamber-pop duo born from late-night improv sessions during a particularly snowy winter in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Using a cello and viola, the duo’s music melds their love of songwriting with their classical training, using loopers and guitar pedals to expand the possibilities of their wooden instruments.
The band has taken a slow but steady approach to releasing music, and after two EPs and two years of writing, Pallmer returned to the studio to record their first LP “Swimming.” The duo worked with JUNO award-winning producer Joshua van Tassel; their collaboration produced a tender collection of 9 songs that interweaves layers of strings, bass, ondéa, synthesizers, and marimba-like percussion. “Swimming” is slated to be released in November 2023.
