Joining Fredericton’s Pallmer For National Tour

It’s been ultra friggin wonderful to be playing music with my dear friends @_em.kennedy_ & @kleynmark who make up @pallmermusic !! I spent most of the spring learning all of their new songs and now we’re finally getting to share them with folks long missed and many new friends! This little Polaroid below was taken at our Montréal show at @quai_des_brumes by our friends @postcoalpromqueen! It was such a lovely night!

The summer now continues and we have a bunch more shows along the way! Many announced and many to be revealed! Throughout July we’ll be crossing the entire country! below is a list of shows! If you’re in the area on these dates I’d love to see you!!

Fredericton, New Brunswick - June 22, 2023 - Pallmer, the mesmerizing chamber pop duo, is captivating audiences across the country with their ethereal melodies and heartfelt compositions. Born from late-night improv sessions during a particularly snowy winter, Emily Kennedy and Mark Kleyn joined forces to create a unique musical experience that seamlessly blends their love of songwriting with their classical training. 

By utilizing loopers and guitar pedals to expand the sonic possibilities of their wooden instruments, Pallmer creates a mesmerizing musical experience that transcends traditional genres. Their upcoming debut LP, "Swimming," a collaboration with JUNO award-winning producer Joshua van Tassel, is a tender collection of nine songs that skillfully intertwine layers of strings, bass, ondéa, synthesizers, and marimba-like percussion. Set for release in 2023, "Swimming" promises to be a highly emotive and immersive journey for listeners.

Pallmer's national tour is already underway, leaving audiences spellbound with their captivating live performances. Having recently wowed crowds at esteemed events such as the Miroir/Mirror Festival in Moncton, FLOURISH Festival in Fredericton, Full Circle Festival in Avondale, and Quai des Brumes in Montreal, Pallmer's ethereal and evocative music has been met with acclaim and admiration.

Continuing their nationwide journey, Pallmer is excited to announce their upcoming tour dates:

Additionally, as part of their remarkable tour, Pallmer will be attending a week-long residency at Leña on Galiano Island in British Columbia. The LEÑA artist residency provides a nurturing environment for practicing artists and creatives, allowing them to delve into focused self-directed work weeks of exploration, research, or process. Pallmer's participation in this residency showcases their commitment to deepening their creative journey and expanding their artistic horizons.

As an exciting addition to their ensemble, Pallmer has invited electronic artist Charles Harding to join them on tour. Harding, known for his proficiency with synthesizers and samplers, brings a new dimension to Pallmer's already innovative sound. Together, they aim to push the boundaries of musical expression and create an immersive experience for their audiences.

Pallmer's nationwide tour promises an opportunity to be transported into a world where haunting melodies and heartfelt compositions intersect, leaving a lasting impact on the senses.

Pallmer:

Pallmer is a chamber-pop duo born from late-night improv sessions during a particularly snowy winter in Fredericton, New Brunswick.  Using a cello and viola, the duo’s music melds their love of songwriting with their classical training, using loopers and guitar pedals to expand the possibilities of their wooden instruments. 

The band has taken a slow but steady approach to releasing music, and after two EPs and two years of writing, Pallmer returned to the studio to record their first LP “Swimming.”   The duo worked with JUNO award-winning producer Joshua van Tassel; their collaboration produced a tender collection of 9 songs that interweaves layers of strings, bass, ondéa, synthesizers, and marimba-like percussion.  “Swimming” is slated to be released in November 2023.
