Greville Tapes Music Club Season 3 Music Release and NB/NS Mini-tour

A concert series celebrating the latest season of The Greville Tapes Music Club featuring some absolutely incredible music-making folks! I had the pleasure of collaborating with my lovely friends in Pallmer and Keeper E. last August to create 3 new pieces of music on a compilation that also includes DenMother, Dumpster Cub, Wolf Castle, and The Olympic Symphonium. Over several days in the middle of April we all played shows across the maritimes to showcase a beautiful spirit of creation and collaboration, facilitated by the kindest of people. It was so lovely to meet new friends and make incredible to new memories at these shows!

Highlights from fabric/que - Trajectories in Montréal, part of Codes d’accès 2024-25 Programming

In mid-February 2024, Trajectories, a collection of electroacoustic composers consisting of my dear friends Connor Cook, Malte Leander, as well as myself, performed our Canadian debut set. We were very fortunate to be invited to perform selections from our 2023 album Blood & Breath as part of 2024-25 programming hosted by Montréal’s Codes d’accès, a series for emerging composers of contemporary classical and electroacoustic fields. It was an absolutely beautiful night at the legendary Montréal venue La Sala Rossa, a place that has seen some of the world most exciting performers. It was such a gift to be able to perform this type of music in that space and I will never forget it. The sonic elements of this night were supported by visuals from our recent residency on Kökar, Åland, Finland in October 2023, blending our past creative efforts with our current trajectory, no pun intended.

Quiet on Kökar by Trajectories Live on Kökar, Åland, Finland - Performance Video

"Quiet on Kökar" is an electroacoustic performance by Trajectories that was developed while attending the Åland Archipelago Guest Artist Residence program, held on Kökar, Åland, Finland. Created during the three-week residency in October 2023, the compositions are crafted from sounds collected on the island, reflecting on its ecology, human impact, and local life. This performance, rooted in the island's serene environment, offers a unique auditory exploration of Kökar's natural and cultural landscapes, emphasizing environmental awareness and the interplay between humans and nature.

fabric/que - Trajectories at Sala Rossa part of Codes d’Accès 2024-25 Programming

fabric/que brings together works with very different aesthetics and instrumentations, but which have been inspired by a common preoccupation: what constitutes us, what elements from the past or our environment influence our individual or collective construction? The melodic material for Philippe Macnab-Séguin's Stained Glass, Caustic Fly is derived from Gregorian chant, the legacy of a religion with a complex history in Quebec. Lily Koslow's Mycelia refers to the underground root network created by fungi, which plays a crucial role in the ecosystem. Gabo Champagne's Hui, heur, nuit takes us back into his childhood memories to trace the traces of his evolution into adulthood. The Trajectories collective will perform four tracks from their album Blood & Breath, produced during the pandemic in 2020-2021, recounting both the isolation and resilience that characterized this troubling and transformative period.
