Pallmer in Hamburg, Germany for Reeperbahn Festival 2024
In September 2024 I headed to Hamburg, Germany with Pallmer to participate in the Reeperbahn music festival. It was Pallmer’s international performance debut and was met with much welcome, new friends, and exciting new opportunities. It was a challenging task to figure out how to transport our delicate equipment overseas for a performance such as this. The cello had to be in an extra protective case and I didn’t risk putting any of my synth material in the checked luggage. I fit my modular synth in a camping bookbag, dodging the eyes of flight attendants in hopes they wouldn’t notice the oversized bag. Our performance at the venue UWE was super well-received with a crowd of almost 200 people watching in the mid-afternoon. The organization of the festival was awesome with an extra highlight on the delicious food they provided for folks involved in the events. We were in good company with some other Canadian band buddies called Slow Spirit from Winnipeg. It made the whole trip feel a little closer to home! All in all this was an excellent experience, and despite the whiplash jet lag, we found much joy and feelings of success!
Thank you Music / Musique NB & Music Managers Forum Canada for helping make this happen!

As Europe’s largest club festival and international platform for pop culture, we turn Hamburg’s Reeperbahn into the centre of the international music scene once every year. We want to join forces with both artists and visitors to discover new talents, create special moments and broaden our musical horizons. We are led by the principles of diversity, sustainability and gender equality. We are a founding member of the Keychange initiative and are committed to a 50/50 gender quota at festivals and in music organisations worldwide.
