Building Sounds at Charlotte Street Arts Centre Residency - First Etude: West Stairwell
Part of a larger sound art residency at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, this work-in-progress etude is an analysis and repurposing of sounds documented in the 140 year-old building's west stairwell. This liminal space is home to many resonances, both active and dormant. The challenge of this project was to understand a portion of the affordance of this space by activating sounds in peculiar ways. I would thump on the railings, remove transients of resonating metal, perform on a cymbal at various floor levels, and process these moments to reveal their subtle intricacies. It’s about hearing what is not often heard, and listening deeper than what is typical in a space such as this.
Quiet on Kökar by Trajectories
The album Quiet on Kökar was conceived of during a recent artist residency undertaken on the small island of Kökar in the Åland Archipelago in Finland, experimenting with a variety of recording set-ups and collaborative compositional techniques, following ideas of the non-anthropocentric positioning of the artist, both at the time of recording, composing and performing.

Prisma EP - live at Nuit blanche 2023 by Charles Harding & Malte Leander (Trajectories)
Prisma is a live improv soundscape set prepared for a special performance at a Nuit blanche Montréal event like-named PRISMA on February 25, 2023, hosted by Eastern Bloc and WIP.
The set was arranged to share varying biomes and sonic memories documented by the 2 composers throughout the past few years. Subtle synth textures are layered throughout the performance to alter the perceptual experience of the field recordings as well as to inspire thoughts of strange prismatic settings in time and space. Sonic spaces and temporal stamps resembling the colors formed by refraction of light through a prism.
Rain Beast - New Soundscape Music Release
Rain Beast is a collage of field recordings collected in New Brunswick and Montréal between 2018 and 2021. As part of a greater meditation on connecting technological mediums in artistic practice to notions of Anthropocene, this collection reflects upon the dissonances of nature and industry in the south of NB and some of the prominent soundmarks that relate to this theme.
